Patient Rooms Receive Upgrades

06-02-2015

The first quarter of 2015 marked various upgrades throughout St. Mary's General particularly patient room and services, which have been drastically modernized and updated. New patient beds for all units, including Critical Care and Labor & Delivery, have been put into operation. New functions for the beds include: a bed monitoring system and software which tracks patients' positions alerting

caregivers if the patient is at risk of falling. The system also monitors the safety parameters of the bed; and has a one-touch scale that allows caregivers to take accurate weights without disturbing the patient. New furniture such as side tables, recliners, and patient bedside tables have also been installed. Another advancement, which is currently being implemented is the installation of flat screen television sets for each patient bed. The TVs not only will provide a source of entertainment for patients, but will also be 100% free of charge.
