Our Services
SMH is a 307-bed regional medical center located in the City of Passaic, New Jersey.
There are 212 medical/surgical beds, 16 ob/gyn beds, 10 pediatric beds, 5
intermediate bassinets, and 25 adult ICU/CCU beds. In addition to a
complete inpatient service program, the Medical Center provides numerous
outpatient services.
The Center’s
primary service area encompasses Passaic County, especially Clifton and the City
of Passaic, but also serves communities in southern Bergen County, parts of Essex, Morris, and Hudson Counties. Many of its specialty services, such as The
Cardiac Program, serve patients from all parts of New Jersey and
New York.

INSTITUTE

CANCER CENTER
The newly constructed Cancer
Center is located at the hospital site on 350 Boulevard, Passaic. Boasting state
of the art equipment including a high energy Varian Linear Accelerator with
multi-leaf collimation, General Electric CAT Scan Simulator, Eclipse Treatment
Planning System and Varis Record and Verify System, the Center utilizes the most
current recognized treatment modalities in the world. One of these modalities is
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy or IMRT.
FAMILY-CENTERED
MATERNITY CARE
Expectant
mothers benefit from the comprehensive,
family-centered maternity services
provided at St. Mary's Hospital. Our
highly-trained physicians and nurses are
dedicated to providing mothers with a
safe and special birth experience. Their
compassion and concern give new mothers
confidence and reassurance. Newborns are
cared for by nurses specially trained in
the care of infants.
We have created a modern facility,
featuring the Labor, Delivery, Recovery
(LDR)
concept for the birth experience.
Patients remain in one private, spacious
birthing suite for
their labor, delivery, and recovery.
Following their immediate recovery, new
mothers
are moved to a private room for the
remainder of t heir
stay. Families are encouraged to share
time together here during visiting
hours.
St. Mary's Hospital provides a
beautiful, warm environment in which to
have a child. The decor is soothing and feminine, and the nursery
is pleasing and playful. Each mother
receives testing, monitoring, and
education specific to her needs. Our
progressive staff is committed to the
individual woman and her family, making
each delivery a unique experience.

SAME DAY SURGERY
Surgical Services
St. Mary's Hospital Surgical
Services include inpatient and outpatient procedures and same-day stays. A
variety of surgeries are performed in our six-room Operating Suite, from general
surgery to arthroscopic and laparoscopic surgery to laser surgery.
St.
Mary's Hospital's noted areas of excellence include procedures in
ophthalmologic, gynecologic, vascular, and urologic surgery, in addition to
orthopedics, particularly joint and hand surgery.
Same Day Surgery
In order to accommodate this growing patient service, St.
Mary's Hospital has opened a Same Day Surgery Center, designed to provide
high-quality pre-operative and post-operative care for ambulatory surgery
patients in a comfortable, state-of-the-art environment.
EMERGENCY
DEPARTMENT
St. Mary's
Hospital Emergency Department is a special unit for patients with sudden and
sometimes serious illnesses or injuries. The unit is open 24 hours a day, every
day. It is staffed by highly qualified NJ-licensed physicians and
registered nurses who are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma.
Emergency Department patients are assessed and prioritized by a professional
nurse upon arrival in order to provide each patient with the most appropriate
and specialized emergency care. The Emergency Department features a trauma room
for the care of severely injured or critically ill patients, six patient beds,
and a cast room.
Cardiac monitoring for all chest pain patients is immediately available and
complemented by specialized cardiac care and specially-trained personnel.
Diagnostic radiology services are available 24 hours a day for CT scans,
ultrasounds, and other important procedures.
