The Internal Medicine Residency Program at St. Mary's General Hospital & Saint Clare’s Hospital

Fully Accredited by Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

Our philosophy is to treat residents more as academics rather than as employees. We strive to provide an atmosphere that is conducive for learning while helping you to reach all the goals and objectives for the Graduate Medical Education

Program. In return, we expect dedication, hard work, honesty, and maintenance of the highest standards. Our aim is to provide you with the best education that will help you to complete your internal medicine training and to help you become a caring, ethical physician who will uphold the high standards of the profession.

TRAINING

Training at the Consortium of St. Mary’s General and Saint Clare’s will give you the opportunity to have an extensive experience in urban and suburban medicine. Our program will provide a comprehensive clinical experience for interns, and 2nd and 3rd year residents needed for a successful career in internal medicine. We encourage a collaborative academic environment which emphasizes clinical skills, scholarly research, and intellectual pursuit.

MENTORSHIP

We have an advisory and mentoring program headed by Dr. Nazia Khan. Every intern receives a program advisor and mentor to serve as his/her advocate. This faculty member will assist in your learning and development. The mentorship program nurtures both personal and professional growth. Its goal is to strike the ideal balance between clinical autonomy and structural learning for each resident.

CURRICULUM

The internal medicine curriculum provides general medical care and subspecialty experience through lectures, conferences, and a mix of experience with primary and tertiary patients.
